DiaperKit Temporarily Closed

October 8th, 2008 · 2 Comments

As I’ve mentioned, DiaperKit is closed currently due to our relocating to the East coast.  I will be shipping all orders that have been placed already on or before Monday October 13.  If you have questions please email me via the Contact Form here on the blog.

ButtKnits will remain open during this time.  In fact, I have a new pattern coming out this week and that means that all of our downloadable full patterns will be on sale for just $5 to celebrate a new pattern!

This is the place to come for updates on our journey as well as the reopening of DiaperKit.  I am working to make sure the closure is as short as possible.

    Hi Amber,

I wanted to tell you that the diapers I made for a friend using the kits I purchased from your website are her FAVORITE. I made her some of each type and closure method, even though she really thought she would prefer front snapping (used dkits, and a few other patterns). She has used them for a few weeks now, and really prefers the diapers made with diaperkits.

I though you would like to know that. : )

The only issue she is having is that she needs more absorbency (true for all the newborns I sewed for her, not just dkits), so I am going to use the pattern I bought from you to make some lay-in doublers. Can you suggest a good layering for them?

I am getting ready to sew the next size kits that I purchased, and will need to alter the absorbency a bit, so I would appreciate any help you might have.

Hope you are getting settled in to your new home.

    Thanks!

    Hi Jeannie,

I like to make my doublers out of 100% cotton flannel or out of 100%cotton knits. Making them using the trifold style included with the pattern will allow you to add the most absorbency.  I make mine using two layers of what ever fabric I’ve chosen.
